The thermal calculation worked well, but I have problems with the subsequent static calculation. I hope that you can help me.

It is a simple flange, which is available as a half model. A tie rod is welded to this flange. The aim of the static calculation is to calculate the distortion and the residual stress from the thermal load.

I have tried different constraints, but the calculation stops after a short time and the results up to that point are very strange.

Here is a picture with the result of the thermal calculation. First I defined a fixed support at the outer holes. Then I defined an external displacement without a degree of freedom on the symmetry plane and that the weld seams must not move in the z-direction (I had once seen this in an example).

The result is always approximately the same. The first weld (there are a total of two on each side) stretches/displaces to such an extent that convergence is no longer achieved.

Can anyone help me with how to set the support? Enclosed are the pictures and the error message.

Many thanks in advance.

["post-370475","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry
[{"0":
157
unanswered
88
73007","73007","73007","73007
370475
27791
88","50557
2
1
371258
371258
2024-07-10 07:15:14
["GET
