{"id":369767,"date":"2024-06-04T12:21:17","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T12:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/issues-with-bonded-interactions-using-a-surface\/"},"modified":"2024-06-04T12:21:17","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T12:21:17","slug":"issues-with-bonded-interactions-using-a-surface","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/issues-with-bonded-interactions-using-a-surface\/","title":{"rendered":"Issues with bonded interactions using a surface"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello all,<\/p>\n<p>I am trying to replicate a double lap shear tensile test we did on a composite coupon to check for adhesive failure but I am having issues setting up the bonded interactions between the composite shell and adhesive body.<\/p>\n<p>I set my composite coupon as a surface and did a solid body for the adhesive, as shown below:<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/06\/04-06-2024-1717502648-mceclip0.png\"><br \/>For my bonded interactions, I did this:<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/06\/04-06-2024-1717502714-mceclip1.png\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/06\/04-06-2024-1717502752-mceclip2.png\"><\/p>\n<p>But the premilinary results I get show like if only 1 side of the composite surface is bonded:<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/06\/04-06-2024-1717502923-mceclip3.png\"><\/p>\n<p>I also tried to set the bonded interactions as 1 command, but I get the same results when I use a surface.<\/p>\n<p>Also, if I suppress the side that looks bonded and leave the other side as is, I get the same mirrored results.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/06\/04-06-2024-1717503593-mceclip5.png\"><\/p>\n<p>I believe is something related with the surfaces because I did the same test with solid bodies (no surfaces) and the premilinary results look more realistic:<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/06\/04-06-2024-1717503314-mceclip4.png\"><\/p>\n<p>Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-369767","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_subscription":["46746","58821"],"_bbp_author_ip":["184.24.96.177"]," _bbp_last_reply_id":["0"]," _bbp_likes_count":["0"],"_btv_view_count":["99"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_topic_id":["369767"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27791"],"_bbp_engagement":["46746","58821"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["2"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["369914"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["369914"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2024-06-05 12:36:43"]},"test":"andresmfphgroup-com"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/369767","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/369767\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=369767"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
