


{"id":367861,"date":"2024-05-21T13:46:23","date_gmt":"2024-05-21T13:46:23","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/choosing-auto-shutoff-min\/"},"modified":"2024-05-21T13:46:23","modified_gmt":"2024-05-21T13:46:23","slug":"choosing-auto-shutoff-min","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/choosing-auto-shutoff-min\/","title":{"rendered":"Choosing &#8220;auto shutoff min&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi all,<\/p>\n<p>I am simulating resonator structures with periodic boundary conditions (and normal source incident angle) in FDTD where I have increased the simulation time such that the standard autoshutoff level of 1e-5 is reached.<\/p>\n<p>However, for some resonators, the transmission result still has &#8220;ripples&#8221;.&nbsp;Following the instructions on <a href=\"https:\/\/optics.ansys.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/12614264530323-Transmission-Results-Greater-Than-One\">Transmission Results Greater Than One &ndash; Ansys Optics<\/a>, I have set the PML boundaries to &#8220;steep angle&#8221; instead of &#8220;standard&#8221;.
