Calculating these deformations by hand are very simple but getting the FEM results to match has proven more difficult. The attached photo is the correct way of simulating pure shear and yields results similar to those obtained by hand calculations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The problem I am experiencing is simulating these boundary conditions with ANSYS.
