I have defined input and output parameters in spaceclaim and ansys mechanical. First I performed a static structural analysis on a structure.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong>Parameters:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The input parameters are<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">=&gt; Locations of 4 structural components i.e. 3 spars and 1 ribs (4 parameters).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">=&gt; Also, each one has a parameter that can suppress\/unsuppress all these 4 components (4 more parameters).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">=&gt; A surface can also be suppressed\/unsuppressed (1 more parameter).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">===&gt; So there are a total of 9 parameters.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Their ranges and values are also defined as follows.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/uUY5LZjuelYuJ0qKzIZP1ioD01G_oab82SPkYusrbmeXdV8O-410poWHFWe_tLvUPHrtXkM56aPm8n1TWIPsnTRBcUjx0anW0Vhho5Kh98xlNAlRb3ZmJ0th5dGiuc62fKy0sED-7CEdRZ6em9NTuA\" width=\"586\" height=\"388\"><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong>Criteria:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As the objective\/response parameter, I am minimizing the stress. The safety factor is constrained under 1.5 and 2 using two constraint functions as follows:<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/p4fGfCfu5Ua5vBTkncAZ968Vg1e8tnKaNHtfBzn_7KXtKQ99NEOmXZocMNWfBV8_FoijSFpRx2SYoO9YZDuRQK0G2f-vtO4n7-MoOHqp-wAIbhuCLUY8yZPBO4jUsiu4zl5d5dScaaOoXg7skMP29Q\" width=\"624\" height=\"179\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong>Optimization method:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>I have selected the evolutionary algorithm and selected the maximum number of samples as 500.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/gTmv2GzXaCvfDJoFHFkJfwFiw4xVxuwQJhyYS-qO7dp-1oYs7IlvYsqSln-YbzKRb7VqZ86KFL4x9JGzspnr2htNYLGZoCwDtLQUglRz_GVR4rt1okDnsOlHwwnCr4EPp6rfh--hBvbbgjdDG82bdg\" width=\"624\" height=\"408\"><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/r1zFy1jjpXw8d5110Ia68SpLXkFUXfZCR-wbrqIl-hx04IeZjDsjLNpcijaSCiF3JpsR2C1E-RL3slxu6faVuuMjeT5F6hkg65doth2Ru-e3_c0ajmy2jpThkCCK5X9AhjEKyq4cLIbMUWK3ZoOGMA\" width=\"624\" height=\"48\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong>Stuck at Update: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It has successfully created all design points using the EA in around 15 hours. However, after computing the 500 design points, it got stuck at &ldquo;updating status&rdquo;. It remains stuck at the update stage for two days. I tried again and again with 10-12 different settings (like using a single parameter, different algorithms, and 50 design points) but it always gets stuck at the update.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/bnEPs6VDdb_6IzY6c9j93coT4VzyTnxxT63vvpFtZS5wrxmQvbywAVKH-mdhJmvfOWIuiHRaT92-YsJ7uWghlok10eTUrQN0hzJYbvJ57O9aLI-VANf0LQWigauvvaXtmlSyzZ9taBrl6NU6GNwE0Q\" width=\"624\" height=\"593\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">I tried again and again with both sensitivity analysis and optimization analysis, with various different parameters, criteria, and algorithms but it always gets stuck after computing all design points.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong>Outputs\/Responses:oSP:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Although, it does provide me with different visuals and design points.
