


{"id":366769,"date":"2024-05-14T12:30:10","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T12:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/ignition-doesnt-start-with-gri-mech-for-methane\/"},"modified":"2024-05-14T12:30:10","modified_gmt":"2024-05-14T12:30:10","slug":"ignition-doesnt-start-with-gri-mech-for-methane","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/ignition-doesnt-start-with-gri-mech-for-methane\/","title":{"rendered":"Ignition doesn&#8217;t start with GRI-Mech for methane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello,<\/p>\n<p>I already checked others forum but it couldn&#8217;t fix my problem, so I would like to know if someone can help me please.<\/p>\n<p>I have an ignition issue with my combustion simulation.<\/p>\n<p>My simulation uses the GRI 3.0 mechanism, for non premixed air-methane combustion, but the ignition doesn&#8217;t start&#8230; When I do the same simulation with methane-air mixture (in species transport model), it works.<\/p>\n<p>Do you know how I can solve this issue please ?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are my parameters :<\/p>\n<p>Steady combustion, with energy model, k-e viscous model and Species Transport model (using GRI 3.0 + Eddy Dissipation Concept)<br \/>Air inlet velocity (I tried 2,4 and 6,1, but it doesn&#8217;t works&#8230;), 300K<br \/>Fuel inlet velocity 5 m\/s, 300K, 100% methane<br \/>Outlet pressure of 101kPa<br \/>Coupled Pressure scheme, and 2nd order for spacial discretisazions.<br \/>I&#8217;m trying to reproduce a simulation I found on a paper, to learn and improve in combustion simulations.
