by this material (except that the laser source is not pulsed; i&#8217;m using a fiber with a power source), i have been able to plot the power absorbed and save it as .mat file.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>After, in the HEAT solver, I load the .mat file to see the temperature distribution on my material.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>I&#8217;ve tried using the source shutter parameters in the Heat transient window to define a pulse, but I can&#8217;t find any difference in temperature distribution when I vary the pulse duration between 100fS and 1&micro;S (whereas in the measurements, pulse duration has a big impact on temperature distribution).&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>I don&#8217;t know how to proceed, as I don&#8217;t want to define my own transient temperature\/power boundary conditions, because in my case the temperature distribution is not uniform over my material, which is the case in this type of simulation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!<\/div>\n<div>Thanks in advance<\/div>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-361301","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-fdtd","topic-tag-Heatsolver-1","topic-tag-heat-transfer","topic-tag-photothermalheatgeneration-1","topic-tag-poweranalysis-1","topic-tag-transient-thermal"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.10 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Hello everyone, To observe the photothermal heating and cooling on a material resulting from a pulsed laser source on Lumerical.I combine the FDTD and HEAT solvers, while using the FDTD solver to determine the absorbed power(Pabs) (using the Pabs adv analysis group) by this material (except that the laser source is not pulsed;
