I have a few doubts I would like some advice as I am still at very basic level of CFD :&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>For example : I have set my global maximum element size as 2 mm , then I apply face sizing to the shell wall (2 mm) and also to the tube wall ( 1.8 mm ) : how should I decide on the element sizes for the face sizing when refining.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>I would like to conduct a grid independent study, but I am still unable to obtain proper texts which provide advice on how a mesh independent study should be conducted.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Also a few doubts , initally i had around 900,000 elements and my solution picked up transience , I applied sizing as above and refined after which the transient got removed ( 4.0 million elements ) is this usual.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Should I apply inflation ?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Sorry for so much questions, I am trying to figure out CFD still .<\/p>\n<p>TIA,<\/p>\n<p>Ashen&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/25-03-2024-1711393351-Screenshot 2024-03-26 003137.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-358874","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-fluent-cfd-ansys-1","topic-tag-heat_exchanger-1","topic-tag-heatfluxfluentnaturalconvectionexternalflowansys-1","topic-tag-fluent-mesh"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.10 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Hi ,I have a model of a shell and tube heat exchanger where the shell side flow is what is resolved.
