There is a fluid volume between the blue and 2 pink surfaces in the picture attached. There is also fluid volume above the yellow surface. While I describe them as two separate fluid volumes for explanation purposes, they are actually one fluid volume and fluid is allowed to move between them by the blue holes. Other than the holes, there is no fluid between the yellow and blue surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>I currently do not have any local sizings turned on, I just have the global sizing and size functions with 5 cells per gap and scoped to faces. The issue I am having is the yellow surface is becoming way more fine than I want or need (as seen in the picture) and I think this is because the mesher is assuming the blue and yellow surfaces are &#8220;close surfaces&#8221;? The blue and pink surfaces have fine mesh on them because they are actually enclosing a volume that is very thin in height but this mesh size is being transferred over to the yellow surface.<\/p>\n<p>Is there a way to exclude the yellow surface from the global settings so the mesher doesnt consider there to be a gap between the yellow and blue surfaces? I am coming from multiple years of experience with STARCCM+ which seemed to have a lot more flexibility when it came to changing settings for certain surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>What would be another possible solution to this issue?
