I’ve been working on this project for a long time. Once I’ve created the inputs, I use an HPC to run them, and then I load the .rst files back into Mechanical where I post process and plot stress contours etc. This usually works without a problem and I have done this many times within the same project file/model.

However, I am now encountering an issue. When I load the solution by reading the .rst file, I cannot do any post-processing. When I click to display anything, e.g. Total Deformation or Von Mises Equivalent Stress, Mechanical briefly shows the result but then promptly crashes and force closes (see image below).

I have searched the forum for similar issues but haven’t found a solution that works for me. I have tried clearing the %temp% and %appdata% folders, defining a scratch directory in Options and updating my graphics drivers. My machine is managed by my IT department and I think that there was recently an OS update (Windows 10 v21H2 19044.4046), I am not sure if this has contributed to the problem.

Any help/understanding would be greatly appreciated. I really need to post process these results.
