I have tried:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In <strong>Smoothing<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li>Springs with<strong> Spring Constant<\/strong> 0 and <strong>Convergence Tolerance<\/strong> 0.001 for <strong>All Elements<\/strong><\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Diffusion with <strong>boundary-distance<\/strong> and <strong>Diffusion Parameter 0.1 <\/strong><\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Linearly Elastic Solid&nbsp; with Poisson&#8217;s ratio 0.25 and also 0.35<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In <strong>Layering<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li>Height Based with <strong>Split Factor 0.4<\/strong> and <strong>Collapse Factor 0.1 <\/strong><\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In <strong>Remeshing<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li><strong>Local Cell<\/strong>, <strong>Local Face<\/strong>, <strong>Region Face<\/strong> with <strong>Minimum Length Scale<\/strong> set to 0, Max to 0.002<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Also I tried <strong>CutCell Zone<\/strong> on and off.<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Dynamic Mesh<\/strong> I have the boundary as <strong>System Coupling<\/strong> with <strong>Cell Height 0.001<\/strong>. I also have the fluid_body as <strong>Deforming<\/strong> with <strong>Remeshing and Smoothing<\/strong> enabled.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>My mesh has a Body Size Function on the elements so that they are <strong>tetrahedrons of size 0.001.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The problem is every single combination of these produces results like those shown in the gif &#8211; there is no change <strong>no matter which of the various settings<\/strong> I have tried.&nbsp; <em>All of the combinations<\/em> produce results that look <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>just like<\/em><\/span> these.&nbsp; I have highlighted several nodes for consideration.&nbsp; Notice that there is <em>no remeshing<\/em>, <em>no internal movement<\/em>, nothing happens to the internal nodes at all. Shown is the symmetry plane as assigned in Fluent, and the solution up to the point of error.&nbsp; I need to continue the deformation much further past this point, but the <strong>Negative Cell Volume<\/strong> error keeps stopping the solution.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/G7JSJII.gif?width=690\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. I am getting a negative cell volume error.&nbsp; What should I look to change in order to get some kind of response from the <em>Mesh Methods<\/em> settings?&nbsp; Right now none of them seem to have ANY effect whatsoever.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.
