


{"id":35095,"date":"2019-05-02T15:38:22","date_gmt":"2019-05-02T15:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/basic-interference-fit\/"},"modified":"2019-05-02T15:38:22","modified_gmt":"2019-05-02T15:38:22","slug":"basic-interference-fit","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/basic-interference-fit\/","title":{"rendered":"Basic Interference fit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m trying to get an solution on Ansys workbench with the pressure that occurs from interference fit.&nbsp; I have tried with basic models, where i have shaft &amp; hole, but I can&#8217;t manage to get the results to be similar to the formula.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Formula used :<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.gyazo.com\/400309dbd3fb32ed5a50b519975a3bf6.png\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.gyazo.com\/92034e84195c476236177c977e9284a1.png\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Young&#8217;s modulus and Poisson ratio is the same for both shaft and hole, which is standard from ansys for constructional steel<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Shaft outer diameter is 32.03mm<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Hole outer diameter is 40 mm&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Hole inner diameter is 32 mm<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Which should give 33.8 MPa, but i can&#8217;t get similar results on Ansys.
