My experience with ANSYS has been limited to simulations in structural mechanics and explicit dynamics. Now, I am faced with a new challenge and am seeking to determine if ANSYS is suitable for simulating the following scenario: I plan to simulate two cars traveling at the same speed, where one of the cars is equipped with an electromagnet aiming to attract the other vehicle. The target vehicle has a total weight of 1600 kg, with 260 kg of that being steel in the bodywork, which is the component that can be influenced by the electromagnet. Additionally, this car has a contact area of 800 cm², resulting in a contact pressure of 196200 Pa.

For the simulation, I am interested in determining specific parameters of the electromagnet to analyze the efficiency and feasibility of the described scenario. Specifically, I am looking to understand the following values:

The required current intensity,

The necessary voltage,

The optimal size and number of windings of the electromagnet.

Is ANSYS capable of conducting such an analysis? Could you also inform me about which modules or tools within ANSYS would be most suited for this type of electromagnetic interaction simulation? Any guidance or recommendations on how to approach this project would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support and advice.

Best regards,

Jackely

["post-349316","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-AnsysMaxwellelectronics-1","topic-tag-electromagnetic
[{"0":
51970","170445","186775
23.52.43.16"]," _bbp_last_reply_id":["0"]," _bbp_likes_count":["0
205
unanswered
1707430473:55131
349316
27791
51970","170445","186775
3
3
350201
350201
2024-02-09 19:19:28
["GET
