I’ve got some questions on the VOF-to-DPM solver transition. <\/span>The 19.2 theory guide states the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“In order to avoid spurious momentum sources, a volume of gas with the same volume as the liquid lump is created in the VOF simulation to maintain the volume conservation. <\/span>The mass source that is equivalent to the mass of the gas volume will affect the overall mass balance.”<\/span><\/p>\n

1 – Is there a reason that the paragraph discusses volume conservation instead of mass conservation?<\/span><\/p>\n

2 – Does the last statement mean that mass conservation is not enforced at the time of the transition? <\/span><\/p>\n

3 – How is the number of particles per parcel calculated? <\/span><\/p>\n
