


{"id":346909,"date":"2024-01-29T01:07:21","date_gmt":"2024-01-29T01:07:21","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/time-step-is-too-small\/"},"modified":"2024-03-05T14:48:35","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T14:48:35","slug":"time-step-is-too-small","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/time-step-is-too-small\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Time step is too small&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Friends,<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m analyzing the tube expansion process in ANSYS and running my model in EXPLICIT DYNAMICS; however, I get the &#8220;Time step too small&#8221; error.<\/p>\n<p>A few points to be added:<\/p>\n<p>1) The model was meshed with the same element size globally.<\/p>\n<p>2) Virtual Topology was applied.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>3) Mass scaling opted &#8220;yes&#8221; to reduce the analysis time.<\/p>\n<p>4) I tried to solve the issue by putting e-20 in the minimum time step cell, but still the model fails with the same time step error.<\/p>\n<p>5) You will see a history of this project in the General Mechanical channel at the link below.
