After a failed upgrade the ANSYS License Manager Center may errantly indicate version 2019 R1 on the top banner but the underlying licensing component ansysli_server.exe is still version 18.x.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6667px;\">If you experience any errors or a failed installation you may want to review the installer log &ldquo;C:Program FilesANSYS Incinstall_licconfig.log&rdquo; for an error like this:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6667px;\">&#8212; ERROR: ansysli_server.exe&#8230;Failed to move the following file:<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6667px;\">From: C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64updateansysli_server.exe<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6667px;\">To:&nbsp; &nbsp;C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64ansysli_server.exe<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6667px;\">Error message: Access is denied.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6667px;\">2019\/04\/11 00:00:00&nbsp; &#8230;FATAL ERROR: The licensing configuration cannot continue until this issue is resolved. Exiting.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.6667px;\"><strong>Work Around:<\/strong> Adjusting security permissions on the directory &ldquo;C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64*&rdquo; may not address the &ldquo;Access is denied&rdquo; condition and you may want to try stopping the ANSYS License Manager services and manually moving the file &ldquo;C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64ansysli_server.exe&rdquo; out of that directory (don&rsquo;t delete, just move it).
