I&#8217;ve isolated my heater completly from the rest the domain to understand it bettter.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s 2D transient conduction problem + heat source term in a rectangle. All the walls are adiabatic. The heat source is 500W, and the volume of the domain is 0.0002 m3, so I&#8217;ve defined the volumetric heat source to be 2500000 W\/m3.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/26-01-2024-1706279870-domain_scheme.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>I would have expected the average temperature evolution would follow this equation:<br \/><a><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\\rho\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cfd-online.com\/Forums\/vbLatex\/img\/d2606be4e0cd2c9a6179c8f2e3547a85-1.gif\" alt=\"\\rho\"><\/a>*Cp*Volume*dT\/dt = Qin<\/p>\n<p>However, the average temperature evolution is extremely slow and doesn&#8217;t follow the previous equation. It only follows that eq. if I force the thermal conductivity of the material to be close to zero.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/26-01-2024-1706279945-temperature_evolution_comparison.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Why would the average temperature evolution be sensible to thermal conductivity if the heat source is the same and has adiabatic boundaries?<\/p>\n<p>Any help is fully appreciated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-346787","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.10 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Hello everyone,I was having trouble in defining a heat source for an electric heater.
