I am attempting to perform a similar simulation study as what was conducted in the article “Volume Conduction in an Anatomically Based Surface EMG Model” by Madeline Lowery et. al. (https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/15605861\/). In this article, they model the upper arm and then apply excitation electrodes and recording electrodes to the arm. The figure below is copied from their article. <\/p>\n

They state in their article that they used a “commercially available finite-element software package (EMAS 4.1,
Ansoft Corp., Pittsburgh, PA).” When searching for this same software program, I learned that Ansys bought out Ansoft many years ago, this article was published in 2004. <\/p>\n

So, I’m wondering which Ansys software package would best allow me to model a limb and apply surface electrodes to record signals in a similiar fashion as this study?
