


{"id":345445,"date":"2024-01-19T00:06:38","date_gmt":"2024-01-19T00:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/element-has-become-highly-distorted\/"},"modified":"2024-02-07T01:33:13","modified_gmt":"2024-02-07T01:33:13","slug":"element-has-become-highly-distorted","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/element-has-become-highly-distorted\/","title":{"rendered":"Element has become highly distorted!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Friends,<br \/>I&#8217;m currently working on a project in which I try to simulate tube mechanical rolling expansion inside the tubesheet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;My model fails to converge due to highly distorted elements in the tube material.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here is a summary of the model setup:<br \/>1) There is no friction between the rollers and the inner surface of the tube.<br \/>2) A coefficient of less than 0.2 between the tube and tubesheet.<\/p>\n<p>3) Tube Thickness=2.5 mm and mesh element size 0.5mm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/19-01-2024-1705622646-mesh.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"466\"><\/p>\n<p>4) Two movements are simulated in the model: a) Rotation around the tube axis. B) Radial to expand the tube.
