


{"id":344614,"date":"2024-01-15T04:05:18","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T04:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/ansys-fluenttransient-structural\/"},"modified":"2024-01-15T04:05:18","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T04:05:18","slug":"ansys-fluenttransient-structural","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/ansys-fluenttransient-structural\/","title":{"rendered":"Ansys Fluent+Transient structural"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Seniors,&nbsp;<br \/>I am working on hydraulic fracturing simulation by coupling of Ansys fluent and transient structural.&nbsp;<br \/>The work flow (2 way coupling) is: exporting the pore pressure data from ansys fluent to mechanical for the calculation of displacements and stresses (with change in fracture) and again exporting the results to ansys fluent.&nbsp;<br \/>My goal is to study the fracture attributes on the basis of injected fluid pressure and other related parameters.&nbsp;<br \/>Case: A cylinder with a hole in the center upto the 90% depth having a elliptical fracture at the bottom.&nbsp;<br \/>I have some confusions, if you may assist.<br \/>1) Do I need to take the injection point at the borehole and fracture boundary as outlet in the fluent for this case (as shown in the below image)?&nbsp;<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/15-01-2024-1705291119-mceclip1.png\" width=\"335\" height=\"271\"><\/p>\n<p>2) Do I need to add any hydrostatic pressure in the ansys transient apart from the inlet and outlet pressure ranges in the fluent?&nbsp;<br \/>3) Is this possible to run the hydraulic fracturing case without any pre-existing fracture?&nbsp;<br \/>4) What should be the fixed support in this case (for the sample in the image)?
