For computational resource reasons, I have opted for a 2D model, which is not supported by Ansys. I read somewhere that it was possible to simulate 2D by adding a small thickness (but I couldn’t find a solution), so I extruded the geometry by 1mm. In the fluid solver, I set at the fluid-wall-surface the system coupling boundary condition. To ensure the data transfer, the inner surfaces of the wall corresponding the the Fluid-wall-surface are set as fluid-structure-interface. The problem is that the mapping in the system coupling is very poor even though I was able to get 100% by doing the same for the 3D model. I noticed that the geometry had gaps between the solid region and the fluid region (It might be because of the domes shape), so I applied the shared topology to ensure continuous meshing and nodes sharing between the two regions. The same mesh size of 100mm (coarse to first get the simulation running) is applied and there is no connection between both regions. The mapping remains poor for the fluid side. I do not know how to deal with it.

I hope I could get feedback from you to move on the right way to solve it.

Best Regards

Guy

—————————————————————————–+
|
