


{"id":34065,"date":"2019-03-19T20:19:05","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T20:19:05","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/time-step-for-structural-transient-dynamic-fea-analysis\/"},"modified":"2019-03-19T20:19:05","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T20:19:05","slug":"time-step-for-structural-transient-dynamic-fea-analysis","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/time-step-for-structural-transient-dynamic-fea-analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"Time step for structural transient dynamic FEA analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello,&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I have a question concerning the setting-up of a structural transient dynamic FEA analysis of an elastomer cylindrical sample.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I have tried to set up the analysis according to the physical test that I want to replicate.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It is about a radial compression test; I have defined Properties&nbsp; Geometry, Model.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In Analysis settings and the Number of steps, based on the dynamic experiment, Displacement is applied every 0.1 sec. We have, let`s &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;say 108 s in total to be the time of the test, and the measurements are 1000. However, when I input the number 1000 in Number of Steps, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;a question mark appeared in the Analysis Settings of the Project tree on the left side, which means that it consider this wrong and the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;study cannot run, appearing red icons on the left of the Inputs I have selected for the Solution.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When I input the the Number of Steps to equal to 1, the simulation works correctly and I can have the results of the analysis I have set &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(image 1). But my test is dynamic and the time step 1 does not indicates this in modelling.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I have tested different values for the Number of Steps, but it does not accept other than 1 in this case to run the analysis.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Could you assume why this is happening?
