


{"id":32139,"date":"2018-12-14T00:01:04","date_gmt":"2018-12-14T00:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/polygon-size-in-ansys-classic-vs-spaceclaim\/"},"modified":"2018-12-14T00:01:04","modified_gmt":"2018-12-14T00:01:04","slug":"polygon-size-in-ansys-classic-vs-spaceclaim","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/polygon-size-in-ansys-classic-vs-spaceclaim\/","title":{"rendered":"Polygon size in ANSYS Classic vs SpaceClaim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m trying to reproduce <strong>Example 10.3<\/strong> from the book <strong>Finite Element Analysis <\/strong>(3rd Edition) by <em>Saeed Moaveni. <\/em>The book&nbsp;uses ANSYS Classic but I am building the model&nbsp;in SpaceClaim.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/3e825b35-df61-45f5-9693-a81101684b62\/4050fb0a-cbac-4db9-8ba2-a9b50187eba2_bike-wrench.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Note the hexagon in the center has sides with 9 mm length. The issue is that when I build this geometry in SpaceClaim, and compare it with the result in the book, the size of the polygon in SpaceClaim looks larger than the size shown in the book. I put the two solutions side-by-side and made the 3 cm lengths equal.
