I export the CAD model as .sat file, and start a structural mechanical analysis in ANSYS (student version) with the file as an import. What I am unsure now is how to connect those parts correctly. I left little gaps between the individual parts because I learnt that I can define the contact types in ANSYS for specific gap sizes. How would I do this properly to have a “glue like” contact definition? And also how would this work for the surfaces that I gave a thickness in ANSYS? How do I know in wich direction they gain the thickness so they dont overlap with the neighbouring surface? I am planning to only create the mesh in ANSYS export it as RST or CDB and then do the simulation with Actran (I could probably get some guidance for Actran at my university by my professor but not for Ansys). I also uploaded a picture in case it helps to show what I mean.

["post-318874","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-ansys-mechanical","topic-tag-meshing
[{"0":
44898","58821
96.7.218.223"]," _bbp_last_reply_id":["0"]," _bbp_likes_count":["0
244
unanswered
publish
318874
27791
44898","58821
2
2
320731
320731
2023-12-04 12:14:23
["GET
