Specifically, I am interested in understanding whether assigning properties in different directions is sufficient to accurately simulate the behavior of the rope in the device.<\/p>\n<p>My focus during the simulation is primarily on the device itself, not just the rope. I aim to model the rope as a single entity with the appropriate characteristics, such as low transverse stiffness and good flexibility. The rope will experience frictional contact and needs to slide smoothly within the device.<\/p>\n<p>Has anyone previously worked on a similar project or can provide guidance on the parameters and values that would be suitable for an accurate simulation? I am particularly interested in recommendations for achieving the desired behavior, considering the anisotropic nature of the climbing rope.<\/p>\n<p>Any advice, suggestions, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
