To reduce the model size, we only consider one unit of the repeating pattern and we&#8217;d like to apply periodic boundary conditions.<\/p>\n<p>My model is built with Gmsh and I have already enforced two sets of nodes to be each side of my &#8220;unit piece&#8221;, especially I&#8217;ve forced the mesher to have the same number of nodes for those interfaces and those are exactly matching if rotated (so we have a direct one-to-one relationship).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m currently a Quanscient user and they have such a cool feature where you give the center of rotation, axis of rotation, angle of rotation, set #1, set #2 and it will figure out the constraints to make it happen.<br \/>Is there such a feature available with Ansys mechanical or do I have to build commands to inforce u&#8217;_r = u_r, u&#8217;_theta = u_theta, u&#8217;_z = u_z in cylindrical coordinates (it will take a bit of head scratching to translate the cartesian coordinates into those)?<\/p>\n<p>Thanks,<br \/>JC<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-318157","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.10 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Hello everyone,I&#039;m working on the mechanical simulation of a rotational system about Z.
