I created two GitHub Repositories for better color map choices, courtesy of Kenneth Moreland. They are <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/u2berggeist\/fluent_colormaps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fluent_colormaps<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/u2berggeist\/cfdpost_colormaps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cfdpost_colormaps <\/a>for Fluent and CFD Post, respectively. <\/p>\n<p>If any ANSYS reps see this, it&#8217;d be super nice if these could be officially implemented into new ANSYS versions! <\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions or comments, please let me know!<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Why not just use Rainbow like everyone else?<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Generally,&nbsp;Rainbow is used as the&nbsp;color map for visualization, even though it has been proved to be quite poor for data visualization on a number of different levels. Information on this can be seen on <a href=\"\/topic\/create\/u2berggeist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kenneth Moreland&#8217;s website<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an example of a SBES (hybird RANS-LES) simulation result at a single time step. The domain is axisymmetric with flow going right to left:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/Bi6PkSB.png\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>It can easily be seen that the brighter blue is drowning out the smaller scale turbulence.
