The analysis goes well until an <strong>out-of-range velocity error<\/strong> terminates the analysis.<span>&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;line-height: 115%\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black\">I set <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black;background: #FBFBFB\">ERODE=1<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black;background: #FBFBFB\"> and <strong>DTMIN=0.5<\/strong> to get rid of negative volume. I am also using <strong>TSSFAC=0.67<\/strong> and <strong>ELFORM=1<\/strong> for my model. Regarding the <strong>hourglass control<\/strong>, I used <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">type 4<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\"> with the hourglass coefficient <strong>0.03<\/strong>. <span style=\"color: black;background: #FBFBFB\">When I run the model with such settings, element erosion will happen due to negative volume as you can see in the following picture, however, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black\">an <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black;background: #FBFBFB\">error termination<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black;background: #FBFBFB\"> occurs because of the out-of-range velocities of some nodes.
