{"id":307817,"date":"2023-09-21T08:15:53","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T08:15:53","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/naming-of-conformal-interfaces-in-cfx\/"},"modified":"2023-09-21T08:15:53","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T08:15:53","slug":"naming-of-conformal-interfaces-in-cfx","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/naming-of-conformal-interfaces-in-cfx\/","title":{"rendered":"naming of conformal interfaces in CFX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Ansys Support Team<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m using a conformal mesh created with Advanced Meshing in a CFX case and I realized that the named selection I specified at the interface between two volume zones is the combination of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>both<\/em><\/span> sides of the conformal interfaces, thus having <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">twice as much<\/span><\/em> area as it should have (checked in Mesh Statistics).<\/p>\n<p>Each individual side of the interface gets assigned a &#8220;random&#8221; name by the mesher and I&#8217;d like to know if there&#8217;s anything I can do to pass the named selection to only one specific side. Interestingly, the random name is the same for both sides, and it&#8217;s it&#8217;s in the format F&lt;Face_ID&gt;.&lt;Body_ID&gt;.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks and
