{"id":306311,"date":"2023-09-12T10:10:05","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T10:10:05","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/adjoint-solver-design-constraints\/"},"modified":"2023-09-12T10:10:05","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T10:10:05","slug":"adjoint-solver-design-constraints","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/adjoint-solver-design-constraints\/","title":{"rendered":"Adjoint Solver; Design constraints"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone,<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">I am going to optimize a 3D airfoil using Fluent&#8217;s adjoint solver.<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">I have two design constraints which are:<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">1-Fixed chord length<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">2-Fixed camber line<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">During optimization, these two conditions must be applied.I see a number of design conditions in the Design Tool, but I don&#8217;t know which one I should use correctly.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/12-09-2023-1694513013-Image.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"803\" height=\"320\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">I wasted a lot of time (more than six months) and failed to apply these two design constraints to the geometry.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">I hope there is someone around the world who can help me.
