


{"id":303424,"date":"2023-08-25T19:33:29","date_gmt":"2023-08-25T19:33:29","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/a-model-of-a-moving-wheel-on-a-rail\/"},"modified":"2023-08-28T10:25:37","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T10:25:37","slug":"a-model-of-a-moving-wheel-on-a-rail","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/a-model-of-a-moving-wheel-on-a-rail\/","title":{"rendered":"A model of a moving wheel on a rail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello,<\/p>\n<pre class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"T\u0142umaczenie\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">I am in the process of modeling a wheel moving on a rail surface. <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">I want to analyze the deflection of the rail under a wheel moving at different speeds.<br><\/span><\/pre>\n<pre id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"T\u0142umaczenie\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">I tried to do it in explicit dynamics and in transient structural but the results didn't look right.<\/span><\/pre>\n<pre id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"T\u0142umaczenie\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">The model consists of a beam placed on the ground (bonded contact) and a wheel placed on the beam (frictionless contact). The material of the wheel has a selected density so that, together with gravity, it acts on the beam with a force of 112.5 kN. The whole is fixed on the bottom plane of the ground.<\/span><\/pre>\n<pre class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"T\u0142umaczenie\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">In the results, I care about the amount of displacement of the beam under the moving wheel depending on the different speeds of this wheel.<\/span><\/pre>\n<pre class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"T\u0142umaczenie\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">I have attached a photo of the model.<br><\/span><\/pre>\n<pre id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"T\u0142umaczenie\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Which solver to choose and what to pay attention to when entering settings.
