


{"id":302704,"date":"2023-08-22T11:38:23","date_gmt":"2023-08-22T11:38:23","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/applying-axial-load-in-autodyn-2\/"},"modified":"2023-08-22T15:05:24","modified_gmt":"2023-08-22T15:05:24","slug":"applying-axial-load-in-autodyn-2","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/applying-axial-load-in-autodyn-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Applying axial load in Autodyn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello,&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So I have been trying to apply axial load on a column that is subjected to a blast load from a contact explosion charge, the column is subjected to axial load of 40 tons, having a cross section of 30&#215;30 cm2. in which, I tried to apply said axial load through &#8220;bourndary&#8221; tap, picked &#8220;stress (constant)&#8221; and entered the value of the stress that is conducted from the 40 tons load (devided 40 tons by the area of the cross section of the column = 4.44e3). However, I found that the stress of the load doesn&#8217;t behave as I anticipated, I found that the axial stress transmits through the column as wave, here are some photos explain what I mean:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/22-08-2023-1692716552-download (1).png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/22-08-2023-1692716567-download (2).png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/22-08-2023-1692716583-download (3).png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/22-08-2023-1692716608-download (4).png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>What I was trying to make is, the charge when the column is fully stressed. I want to value of the stress to be there before starting the blasting stage.
