


{"id":299652,"date":"2022-12-16T06:01:43","date_gmt":"2022-12-16T06:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/driving-dimension-causes-bodies-intersection\/"},"modified":"2022-12-16T06:01:43","modified_gmt":"2022-12-16T11:01:43","slug":"driving-dimension-causes-bodies-intersection","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/driving-dimension-causes-bodies-intersection\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving dimension causes bodies intersection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello &#8211; it&#8217;s been now several days that I have been stuck on a problem and I can&#8217;t find a solution online.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s assume I have three adjacent components in an assembly, which are bound by tangency of one their faces respectively, like in the picture below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/media.forumbee.com\/i\/c16549ad-3a11-4de5-b0f9-fa273249cf7b\/h\/547.png\"><\/p>\n<p>The relevant size of these components along the direction perpendicular to the tangent faces are L1, L2 and L3 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Before transferring the geometry to ANSYS Fluent, I would like to set L2 as a parameter, so that I can run several simulation at different L2 values.<\/p>\n<p>I have try to set a Driving Dimension using the Pull tool, but if I try to chnage it, what happens is that Component 2 will overlap with either Component 1 or 3 depending which face of Component 2 I have selected for pulling.<\/p>\n<p>What I&#8217;d like instead is either component 1 or 3 to move accordingly to accommodate the change of size of Component 2.<\/p>\n<p>Any help would be appreciated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-299652","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-dimensions-1","topic-tag-spaceclaim"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_subscription":["254843"],"_btv_view_count":["289"],"_bbp_likes_count":["0"],"_bbpmt_movedon":["2023-08-17 11:49:45"],"_bbpmt_movedfrom":["296275"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_status":["publish"],"_bbp_topic_id":["299652"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27789"],"_bbp_engagement":["2327","254843"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["4"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["300802"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["300802"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2022-12-20 05:21:20"]},"test":"davide-masiellopsi-ch"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/299652","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/299652\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=299652"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
