In transient analysis, only one coefficient of friction can be defined (unlike explicit dynamics). So, I created a transient analysis linked to explicit dynamics workbench as shown below. allowing me to input the friction coefficient for dynamic and static, decay coefficient.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/09-07-2023-1688918795-mceclip0.png\" width=\"317\" height=\"429\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/09-07-2023-1688918855-mceclip1.png\" width=\"255\" height=\"94\"><\/p>\n<p>As I wanted to simply test this friction formulation, i tried to simulate a block sliding example. However, I got the following graph for friction stress vs relative velocity.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/09-07-2023-1688918997-mceclip2.png\" width=\"399\" height=\"240\"><\/p>\n<p>I am unable to see the friction decay, as I was expecting to see based on Figure 3.12 in contact technology guide.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/09-07-2023-1688919126-mceclip3.png\" width=\"334\" height=\"224\"><\/p>\n<p>If anyone has any insight regarding this, it would be really helpful.
