


{"id":289469,"date":"2023-06-20T05:19:05","date_gmt":"2023-06-20T05:19:05","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/non-linear-vs-linear-static-structural-analysis\/"},"modified":"2023-06-20T12:39:28","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T12:39:28","slug":"non-linear-vs-linear-static-structural-analysis","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/non-linear-vs-linear-static-structural-analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"Non Linear vs Linear static structural analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have performed two analysis as given below:<\/p>\n<p>1) <strong>Linear analysis<\/strong>: material properties are defined for elastic regions only, and maximum stress comes out to be 1200Mpa@18000N which is well above the yield strength of materials, but as per experimental results or field results material is not facing any challenge regarding failure or bending of material which means as per experment material is ok but simulation is saying it is fail.<\/p>\n<p>2) <strong>Non-linear<\/strong>: In second analysis, I have defined material properties in plastic regions as well. now the max stress comes out to be below 200Mpa which means material is ok, but as we know that for plastic region failure criterion is strain so I have checked strain value which comes out to be less than 1.5% which is again below the failure criteron (5% as per industry norm or literature). <strong>Note<\/strong>: Although it is not fully converged but i have taken mid value results i hope it is ok?<\/p>\n<p>In this project we had the experimental results basis that we have gone for non-linear material propertiy analysis. in general we used to do linear analysis<\/p>\n<p>Suppose we do not have experimental data in that situation how to decide which analysis to perform in order to get best and economical design.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-289469","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-analysis-type","topic-tag-linear","topic-tag-non-linear"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_subscription":["125677","13927"],"_bbp_author_ip":["23.217.200.46"]," _bbp_last_reply_id":["0"]," _bbp_likes_count":["0"],"_btv_view_count":["4770"],"_edit_lock":["1687264601:216656"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_status":["publish"],"_bbp_topic_id":["289469"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27791"],"_bbp_engagement":["13927","125677"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["3"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["289746"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["289746"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2023-06-21 12:43:52"]},"test":"sachin-kumarecocatindia-com"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/289469","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/289469\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=289469"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
