{"id":287584,"date":"2023-06-07T15:41:34","date_gmt":"2023-06-07T15:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/fluent-gpgpu-usage\/"},"modified":"2023-06-07T15:41:34","modified_gmt":"2023-06-07T15:41:34","slug":"fluent-gpgpu-usage","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/fluent-gpgpu-usage\/","title":{"rendered":"Fluent GPGPU Usage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are exploring potential speed-ups using GPGPU for our flow studies. &nbsp;Currently, we see no speed increase when using a fixed number of processor threads and with an Nvidia RTX A5000 GPU enabled or disabled.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Originally we attempted this in v2022 R2, but updated to 2023 R1 to see if that would help. &nbsp;Fluent is reporting that the GPU is there and selected, but we see nearly identical performance with\/without the GPU. &nbsp;This is not in Native GPU mode, but with the GPU added in the Parallel tab of the launcher. &nbsp;Our case uses the following models: transient, VOF Multiphase, k-epsilon Realizable turbulence, and DPM. &nbsp; &nbsp;I have attempted to modify the settings under \/solve\/set\/amg-options\/amg-gpgpu-options to enable for limited equations, and while after iteration it reports &#8220;AMG on GPU&#8221; in the console, there is still no speed change.<\/p>\n<p>Is it possible to accelerate this simulation on GPU?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-287584","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-fluent","topic-tag-GPGPU-1"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_subscription":["14779","199"],"_bbp_author_ip":["168.143.243.35"]," _bbp_last_reply_id":["0"]," _bbp_likes_count":["0"],"_btv_view_count":["2586"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_status":["publish"],"_bbp_topic_id":["287584"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27792"],"_bbp_engagement":["199","14779"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["5"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["288531"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["288531"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2023-06-13 13:57:20"]},"test":"wallish77"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/287584","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/287584\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=287584"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
