


{"id":285008,"date":"2023-05-20T19:51:54","date_gmt":"2023-05-20T19:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/how-should-1-d-fea-analysis-be-evaluated\/"},"modified":"2023-05-20T19:51:54","modified_gmt":"2023-05-20T19:51:54","slug":"how-should-1-d-fea-analysis-be-evaluated","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/how-should-1-d-fea-analysis-be-evaluated\/","title":{"rendered":"How should 1-D FEA analysis be evaluated?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Everyone,<\/p>\n<p>I have a little question for you.<\/p>\n<p>I modeled the system you see in the images using 1-D beam elements and using 2-D elements with the same boundary conditions.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/20-05-2023-1684611833-3.JPG\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>This is the Maximum Bending Stress &#8211; Maximum Combined Stress result of my 1-D model.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/20-05-2023-1684611927-1.JPG\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>This is the Equivalent Stress result of my 2-D model.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/20-05-2023-1684611963-2.JPG\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">As you can see, there is about a two times difference between them.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">This situation does not change no matter what the problem is.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In other words, when I try different systems with different boundary conditions, I see a two times difference between them.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">What is the theoretical explanation for this?
