{"id":245299,"date":"2023-01-03T07:04:34","date_gmt":"2023-01-03T07:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/?post_type=topic&#038;p=245299"},"modified":"2024-02-16T10:18:16","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T10:18:16","slug":"0x8007052e-the-user-name-or-password-is-incorrect","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/0x8007052e-the-user-name-or-password-is-incorrect\/","title":{"rendered":"(0x8007052E): The user name or password is incorrect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">When installing the Active Director connector service, the username and password of the account to join users and machines to the Organization Unit (OU) are given as parameters to the installation script:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"background: white;padding-left: 40px\"><em><span style=\"color: #212121\">.\\install.ps1 <strong>-username<\/strong> &#8220;domainjoin@company.com&#8221; <strong>-password<\/strong> &#8220;agw123&#8221; -thumbprint &#8220;b6f70dcc3dd822791ece744ec67c34eb92cbbe97e0&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">In case the credentials provided are wrong or in case the password is changed later on, the AD Connector will no more be able to connect and the following error will be given in the logs :<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"background: white;padding-left: 40px\">2022-12-30 01:49:30.611 -08:00 [ERR] Can&#8217;t process instruction 0c09f639-55b3-4406-835c-fc7ffb230ec6.<br \/>System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x8007052E): <span><strong>The user name or password is incorrect.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">To correct the username or password, please follow these instructions :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121\"><strong>stop the AD connector Service<\/strong><br \/><\/span>Look for the service named &#8220;Ansys.Gateway.AdConnector&#8221;<br \/>note : If you can&#8217;t find the service, look for a service named &#8220;acsAdminConnector&#8221;\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>re-install the AD Connector service by following steps below:<\/strong><br \/>(note that if you no more have access to agwADconnector.zip and config.json, please contact Ansys Technical Suppor\n<ol>\n<li>Display the certificate&#8217;s thumbprint<br \/>Open the Certificate Manager (Start &gt; Run &gt; certmgr.msc)<br \/>Under <strong>Certificates &#8211; Local Computer<\/strong>, go to <strong>Trusted Root Certification Authorities &gt; Certificates<br \/><\/strong>Open the certificate used to certify the local machine (whose <strong>Intended Purposed <\/strong>value is &#8216;Client Authentication&#8217;)<br \/>In the certificate dialog, select the <strong>Details<\/strong> tab<br \/>Select the Thumbprint field and copy the thumbprint value.
