


{"id":235364,"date":"2022-09-15T14:15:08","date_gmt":"2022-09-15T14:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/artefacts-between-contact-surfaces-in-mechanical\/"},"modified":"2022-09-22T23:10:39","modified_gmt":"2022-09-22T23:10:39","slug":"artefacts-between-contact-surfaces-in-mechanical","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/artefacts-between-contact-surfaces-in-mechanical\/","title":{"rendered":"Artefacts between contact surfaces in mechanical"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been struggling with the simulation for a while, trying multiple combinations of the contact parameters to reduce&nbsp; the penetration between 2 objects but now that the penetration is reduced, the target surface appears very bumpy (what I assume is artefact) but because of that I can&#8217;t re-use the mesh in another simualtion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>my contact is frictional (you can imagine a head growing in a partly restrictive helmet) some areas are already in contact when the heead starts growing.
