


{"id":221018,"date":"2022-07-26T18:38:35","date_gmt":"2022-07-26T18:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/absorbed-visible-solar-flux-unexpected-results\/"},"modified":"2022-07-26T18:38:35","modified_gmt":"2022-07-26T18:38:35","slug":"absorbed-visible-solar-flux-unexpected-results","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/absorbed-visible-solar-flux-unexpected-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Absorbed Visible Solar Flux &#8212; Unexpected Results?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a thin plate with the bottom surface receiving solar flux, and the other surfaces being fully transparent and the inside of the geometry being air with very low (1e-5) density.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/26-07-2022-1658860561-mceclip0.png\" width=\"379\" height=\"260\"><\/p>\n<p>This bottom wall was set to 0 transmissivity and 0 absorptivity for this case, so it was expected that the solar radiation coming in (1377 W\/m2) would be split between reflectivity in the IR and visible, 688.5 W\/m2, which occured.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/26-07-2022-1658860600-mceclip1.png\" width=\"472\" height=\"394\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/26-07-2022-1658860637-mceclip2.png\" width=\"505\" height=\"314\"><\/p>\n<p>However, the absorbed visible solar flux map was also showing a value, which was unexpected. The absorbed IR was as expected, 0 W\/m2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/26-07-2022-1658860676-mceclip4.png\" width=\"450\" height=\"274\"><\/p>\n<p>Does anyone have any reasons this may be occuring?
