


{"id":167576,"date":"2022-03-22T08:48:21","date_gmt":"2022-03-22T08:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/turbogrid-secondary-flow-path\/"},"modified":"2022-03-28T10:15:48","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T10:15:48","slug":"turbogrid-secondary-flow-path","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/turbogrid-secondary-flow-path\/","title":{"rendered":"Turbogrid Secondary Flow Path"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"Item-Body\">\n<div class=\"Message userContent\">\n<p>Hi there,<\/p>\n<p>I&#039;m using Ansys student version to generate a radial compressor mesh coupled with a back face cavity.<\/p>\n<p>Now, there is this nice functionality of generating a 2D mesh of the secondary flow path and coupling it to the main 3D mesh. <\/p>\n<p>So far, everything works fine: Generating the compressor and secondary flow path geometry using design modeler, assigning the secondary flow path and boundary intersection. I have both, the boundary intersection and the rest of the closed loop inside the Mesh tab under secondary flow path. As long as the secondary flow path is not interfaced with the 3d mesh, everything works fine.<\/p>\n<p>However, as soon as I select &quot;hub interface&quot; for the boundary line, mesh generation crashes with the attached error. <\/p>\n<p>I&#039;ve tried the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>moving the boundary outside the blade passage and to the outlet domain<\/li>\n<li>first suppressing topology update<\/li>\n<li>Changing the angular position of the interface<\/li>\n<li>Reversing the rotational direction of the machine<\/li>\n<li>Using &quot;Export Points&quot; and &quot;CAD&quot; for blade geometry and flow path geometry respectively<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whats the solution?
