Hello ,<\/p>\n

I am a beginner in ANSYS Mechanical and trying to learn it by going through the tutorials in ANSYS Innovation Course.<\/p>\n

I am running an analyses of ''Point Loading of Cantilever Beam'' in ANSYS Innovation Course, however there is something could not figure out about the results.<\/p>\n

I have run the analysis and got the results by following the tutorial . Then went to next lesson of Verification & Validation – Lesson 8. And there it is stated as follows:<\/p>\n

''Performing the three-dimensional analysis results in tip deflections in agreement with theory including the shear deformation but does not<\/strong> render normal stresses at the wall given by simple beam theory'' <\/p>\n

What I understood from this statement is that the deformation results from analysis is considered to be matched with theory on the other normal stress results from analyses and theory not in match.<\/p>\n

Deformation results they got 8.9284 e-6 in and theoretical results they posted is -0,0071+0,0005 in. <\/p>\n

My question is how are these two matches? Is there something I was missing?<\/p>\n
