When I use the "split body" method in spaceclaim, it works. However, when I open my part in Mechanical is imports as two seperate parts with a "bonded" contact between them. The nodes on my partition edge do not match each other using the default mesh.

In Abaqus it is possible to partition a body without having to set up a tie constraint between the two surfaces. Is the same thing possible in Ansys? I.e. just to create an edge on the body where I want nodes but not split my part into multiple parts with contact definitions.

Maybe both are equivalent? I'm just wondering if there's a cleaner way

Many thanks,

Mark

["post-164384","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry
[{"0":

Anonymous
false
2574
0
234891
unanswered
publish
164384
27791
240","234891
2
2
198987
198987
2021-11-30 08:43:53
["GET
