I first run HFSS and use EM loss as a thermal excitation to import EM loss data from HFSS to Thermal module. My model consists of biological tissues, which vary from 37C-40C and electronics, which have a temperature of 24C (also an ambient temp &#8211; room temp). <\/p>\n<p>I have questions regarding the boundaries. <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>My model has multiple layer embedded in each other, mimicking a rat head . I use convection as a boundary for the outermost layer because all faces of this layer are in contact with air. I only know this layer&#039;s convection coefficient. Should I also assign convection for the inner layers? <\/li>\n<li>Is there a way to assign an initial temperature for the components? I used temperature as a boundary for the inner layers, but it gave me overlapping issues with EMloss. But using temperature (aka assigning a fixed temp) might not be correct because I expect the temperature to rise as a result of the simulation.<\/li>\n<li> I included the result of my first attempt below. I think the the temperature map is incorrect. I expected the temperature at the device&#039;s site to be 41-42C (based on literature of my project) , and the ambient temp should remain at 24C.
