{"id":161828,"date":"2021-09-01T13:42:09","date_gmt":"2021-09-01T13:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/suppress-fluent-to-open-with-gui-while-performing-in-journal-file\/"},"modified":"2021-09-07T09:28:28","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T09:28:28","slug":"suppress-fluent-to-open-with-gui-while-performing-in-journal-file","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/suppress-fluent-to-open-with-gui-while-performing-in-journal-file\/","title":{"rendered":"Suppress Fluent to open with GUI while performing in journal file"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"Item-Body\">\n<div class=\"Message userContent\">\n<p>Dear members,<\/p>\n<p>I would like to automate my process of several simulations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For preparing I&rsquo;ve already done:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The complete case setup<\/li>\n<li>Create a recorded journal file<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The desired procedure should look like:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start a batch which\n<ul>\n<li>Opens ANSYS Workbench<\/li>\n<li>Loads the Project<\/li>\n<li>Runs the journal files\n<ul>\n<li>Switch to Fluent<\/li>\n<li>Load Case<\/li>\n<li>Change a few settings<\/li>\n<li>Do the simulation<\/li>\n<li>Post-processing<\/li>\n<li>Switch back to Workbench<\/li>\n<li>Update Project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And everything <strong>without GUI!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Actually, working:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I managed to run all mentioned steps. Also the Workbench starts and performs in batch mode.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Actually, not working:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the journal file in Workbench gets called, Fluent performs with GUI.<\/p>\n<p>Batch Skript:<\/p>\n<p><em>ECHO OFF<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> C:Program FilesANSYS Incv201Framework\binWin64RunWB2.exe&quot; -B -F &quot;D:DLR_MasterarbeitSimulationenDigitalTwinFluegelVersuchTestbenchTestbench_FluegelVersuch.wbpj&quot; -R &quot;C:Userscone_phDesktopAutomatisierung2021_08_30FluegelWB_Journal.wbjn&quot;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> PAUSE<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When I tried to launch only the Fluent journal via:<\/p>\n<p><em>&quot;C:Program FilesANSYS Incv201fluent<br \/>\ntbinwin64fluent.exe&quot; 2ddp -g -t 4 -i C:Userscone_phDesktopAutomatisierung2021_08_30FLUENT_Journal<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It gives me back:<\/p>\n<p><em>Done.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&gt; \/file\/set-tui-version &quot;20.1&quot;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&gt; (cx-gui-do cx-set-toggle-button2 &quot;General*Table1*Table2(Solver)*ToggleBox5(Time)*Transient&quot; #t)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Error: No GUI functions are available.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Error Object: ()<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Warning: An error or interrupt occurred while reading the journal file.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Some commands may not have been completed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Means to me that the journal file is not compatible for no GUI application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My actual goal is to keep this process, but get the journal file running without GUI. Can I turn of Fluent GUI in the journal file? Do I need to use other command inside the journal file?
