I was having trouble with separating TM and TE modes while using the standard dipole cloud with random orientation. However, the discussion: <a href=\"\/forum\/discussion\/comment\/116911#Comment_116911\" rel=\"nofollow\">\/forum\/discussion\/comment\/116911#Comment_116911<\/a>, it says that for bandstructure, the dipole cloud has to be oriented out of plane (theta=0) and then by toggling between Magnetic and electric dipole, we can get TE and TM modes, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>However, in my case orienting the dipoles (by fixing theta) is indeed helping in preventing the mixing of TE and TM modes but if you see the screenshot attached, Magnetic dipole_cloud oriented out of plane (i.e. theta = 0) is giving bandstruture similar to TM mode while Magnetic dipole_cloud oriented in-plane (theta = 90) is giving results similar to TE mode.<\/p>\n<p>Similar case is being observed for electric dipoles.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embedExternal embedImage\">\n<div class=\"embedExternal-content\">\n<a class=\"embedImage-link\" href=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/forum-uploads\/926\/75P9NTWKJAPG.png\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"embedImage-img\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/forum-uploads\/926\/75P9NTWKJAPG.png\" alt=\"Screenshot (112).png\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-161247","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_author_ip":[""],"_bbp_old_reply_author_name_id":["Anonymous"],"_bbp_old_is_reply_anonymous_id":["false"],"_btv_view_count":["312"],"_bbp_likes_count":["0"],"_bbp_subscription":["234853"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_status":["publish"],"_bbp_topic_id":["161247"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27833"],"_bbp_engagement":["2592","190664"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["3"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["188877"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["188877"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2021-08-18 18:26:37"]},"test":"loqm"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/161247","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/161247\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=161247"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
