I want to simulate a simple model, a 2D rectangular duct that a part of its top wall is flexible. So I created a rectangular channel and attached a rectangular part to represent that flexible section of the top wall, which has a thickness of 1mm. For more simplicity, I have only used fixed support at both ends of this flexible section to see how the airflow impacts it. (Note: since we cannot mesh a 2D geometry in ANSYS, I have set the width to be 1mm, and there are only two rows of elements in the width of the domain).

Regarding this discussion (/forum/discussion/1222/creating-a-common-wall-on-fluid-flow), I have formed a new part and then used “share topology” to achieve a conformal mesh and avoid further errors such as one-surface: cannot create surface from sliding interface zone. Creating empty surface, or additional walls in Fluent.

However, by using share topology and having no problem with meshing the fluid zone, when I open fluent to setup other variables (inlet velocity, dynamic mesh motion, and so forth), there will be no mesh interface, and also the interface will automatically be set wall:

["post-161222","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-ansys-fluent","topic-tag-ansys-workbench","topic-tag-meshing
[{"0":

236
0","0
0
2445
245289
unanswered
publish
161222
27792
20093","204595
2
2
188770
188770
2021-08-14 15:04:57
["GET
