Since the analysis is 3D, it is asking for the thickness of the shell elements that will be created for this geometry.&lt;br&gt;I think you may have to revisit the CAD model and see if this arrangement is exactly what you want.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;You can apply pretension to a bolt without nut.
