Instead one has to use command line arguments to the engine. Those command line arguments are documented here:&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;<a title=\"https:\/\/optics.ansys.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360024812334-running-simulations-using-the-windows-command-prompt\" href=\"https:\/\/optics.ansys.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360024812334-Running-simulations-using-the-Windows-command-prompt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/optics.ansys.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360024812334-Running-simulations-using-the-Windows-command-prompt<\/a>&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The idea is that you can run a simulation with the option&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n<pre class=\"language-plaintext\"><code>-outmaterialfile &lt;file&gt;<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&#8221;ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak&#8221; dir=&#8221;ltr&#8221;&gt;and then you can run subsequent simulations with the command line argument&lt;\/span&gt;&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n<pre class=\"language-plaintext\"><code>-inmaterialfile &lt;file&gt;<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&#8221;ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak&#8221; dir=&#8221;ltr&#8221;&gt;where it loads the mesh from &lt;file&gt; instead of meshing.&lt;\/span&gt;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This option can be useful and saves time when the geometry and the materials don&#8217;t change and you just want to simulate different source settings (source positions, incident angle, &#8230;).&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Additionally, I am not sure if this is also somthing that could be setup with S-matrix sweep tool in the GUI.
