I modelled the particle as a solid and then selected its nodes to create a segement. I used that segement and the surface of the substrate for the contact. Here are my MAT, EOS, and CONTACT cards. The TERMINATION time I am using is 1e-4 ms. I added the TIMESTEP card and kept default values.
